Gender reassignment

An individual's gender is reassigned by surgery that precludes any reproductive function and results in genital transformation.

Czech law allows gender reassignment. It is important to distinguish between administrative gender reassignment, which is associated with a change of a person’s first name and surname, and surgical gender reassignment, which involves medical procedures intended to change gender through surgical intervention.
An administrative gender reassignment and the related change of first name and surname is possible without undergoing a surgical gender change.

The date of gender reassignment is considered to be the date stated in the certificate issued by the healthcare provider confirming that the conditions for gender change have been met.
