Who can stand as a candidate?
A citizen of Czechia or of another EU Member State (with permanent or registered temporary residence in Czechia no later than 45 days before the elections), who is at least 21 years of age on the 2nd day of the elections, and whose right to vote is not restricted.
What is the maximum number of candidates that can feature on the list of candidates?
The European Council determines the number of MEPs elected for each Member State. The list of candidates may contain 1/3 more candidates than that number.
For example, there are currently 21 MEPs elected to represent Czechia. A candidate party may therefore list a maximum of 28 candidates.
