Reporting of changes in the facts decisive for entitlement to allowance to cover the needs of a child, its amount and payment

Main information

The purpose of the service is to fulfil the obligation of the applicant or recipient of the allowance to cover the needs of a child to report in writing to the relevant regional branch of the Labour Office of the Czech Republic any changes in the facts decisive for the duration of entitlement to the benefit, its amount or payment within 8 days.

This applies to you if

You are an applicant or recipient of the foster child benefit who wants to report changes in the facts decisive for entitlement to the benefit, its amount or payment, or you want to report a change in your permanent address, actual residence, address for delivery of the benefit or the method of payment of the benefit.

Through this recurrent benefit, the state helps foster parents cover the costs of caring for a child. For example, to buy clothes, shoes, personal items or school supplies. A dependent minor child placed in foster care, temporary foster care or guardianship is entitled to the benefit.

Children who are placed in foster care, temporary foster care or guardianship remain entitled to the benefit after they reach adulthood, but no longer than the by age of 26, provided that they live permanently and contribute to the payment of their needs with their former foster parent or guardian.

Children who cannot be cared for by either parent or guardian and have been entrusted by the court to the personal care of another person are also entitled to this benefit. It is therefore a ‘wardship’. In this case, the amount of the benefit awarded will be reduced by the court-ordered maintenance set for the parents or other obligors and any pension (disability or survivor's pension). In this case, the child is entitled to the benefit up to the age of 18.

When to use this service
