Main information
Parents are obliged to pay a care allowance for a child placed in a school institution for institutional upbringing on the basis of a court decision. In administrative proceedings, the Director decides on the amount of the contribution to the payment of care provided to children and dependent persons in the facility, in accordance with Government Decree No 460/2013 to the extent according to the age of the child, or according to the documented income of parents. If you cannot pay the contribution from your income, you will submit a request for a reduction or non-determination of the contribution.

You are the parent of a child for whom you pay a care allowance in institutional care, and you cannot pay the allowance from your income.
When to use this service
The Director of the Facility will initiate an administrative procedure on the obligation to pay the care allowance and will invite you to provide any supporting documents that indicate your inability to partially or fully pay the allowance.

Appeal options
You can appeal against the decision on the amount of the care allowance through the Director of the establishment that issued the decision; it is forwarded to a superior administrative body – the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports or a regional authority. The appeal must be duly substantiated and accompanied by documents showing that the decision cannot be complied with (documents on income, social benefits, material distress, etc.).
