The State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic

The State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic is a state institution, which co-finances projects for the protection and improvement of the environment.

The State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic (SEF CR) is a state institution of the Ministry of the Environment, which since 1992 has been involved in financing projects for the protection and improvement of the environment in the Czech Republic.

In the form of subsidies and loans, the SEF CR co-finances projects contributing to the improvement of water quality, air quality, waste management and nature and landscape protection. The SEF CR also supports environmental education and enlightenment, the use of renewable energy sources, adaptation to climate change and energy saving.

The SEF CR plays a key role in fulfilling the Czech Republic's obligations arising from international conventions on environmental protection, membership in the European Union and the state environmental policy.

WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES OF THE SEF CR

  • cooperation in the creation of grant programs and calls announced in them,
  • receiving and evaluation of aid applications, financing and control of project implementation, evaluation of their effects,
  • providing consulting and advisory services,
  • administration of the fee for groundwater abstraction and the fee for the discharge of wastewater into surface waters.
