Dissolution of a marriage

A marriage may be dissolved only if there are legal reasons for this.

A marriage may be dissolved only if there are legal reasons for this, i.e. if a spouse dies or is declared dead, or in the event of divorce or gender reassignment. If a spouse is reported missing, this does not dissolve the marriage. If a spouse is declared dead and that declaration is subsequently annulled, the marriage itself is not renewed.
