Recognition of qualification for temporary work
Recognition of qualification may be of temporary nature in those cases where you intend to carry out the work in the Czech Republic only sporadically or provisionally. Before applicants may start, you are required to demonstrate to the Ministry of the Environment that:
- You are a citizen of an EU Member State;
- You are authorized to design, implement or evaluate geological work or services according to the laws of another EU Member State.
Recognition of qualification for permanent activities
In order to obtain a permanent recognition of qualification, applicants need to meet conditions defined in Act No. 18/2004 Coll., which means, among other, to pass a comparative test demonstrating knowledge of legal regulation that is applicable to activities of a authorized manager / provider of geology-related work or services in the Czech Republic.
- Recognition of qualification for permanent activities cannot be processed electronically.

What you need if you are using this service
Requirements of the application for recognition of qualification to design, implement and evaluate geology-related work in the Czech Republic
Recognition of qualification for temporary work:
- proof of citizenship of an EU Member State,
- proof of authorization to design, implement or evaluate geology-related work according to the laws of another EU Member State.
Recognition of qualification for permanent activities:
You shall include the following information in your application:
- Name and last name, attained academic title or scientific rank, date and place of birth, permanent residency address and contact details (phone and/or email);
- Specification of regulated activity that the applicant wishes to engage in in the Czech Republic, i.e. design, implementation and evaluation of geology-related work in the Czech Republic and the specific area(s) of these activities.
- The intended form of carrying out these regulated activities (as an independent contractor / consultant, as a responsible representative of an entrepreneur or as an employee).
The application shall be accompanied by:
- An identity card proving citizenship and, as the case may be, documentation corroborating legal status as specified in Section 1 paragraph 2 Act No. 18/2004 Coll., which is, in majority of cases, a proof of EU Member State citizenship,
- Documentation of professional qualification,
- Proof of good standing / no record of criminal convictions.
- Proof of payment of applicable administrative fee.

How much will you pay
Recognition of qualification for temporary work: there is no administrative fee.
Recognition of qualification for permanent activities: Administrative fee is CZK 2000 and it can be paid by a bank transfer to the Ministry's bank account (see FAQs).
