Review of the final exam and the profile part of the school-leaving examination

Main information

Anyone who has taken:

• the final examination or the examination of the profile (school) part of the school-leaving examination, or
• who has been excluded from taking these examinations,

may request in writing the regional authority competent for the seat of the school (in the case of the City of Prague, the Prague City Hall) to review the course and result of the examination or a decision on exclusion from the examination.

The regional authority shall take a decision on the application within 30 days of the date of its delivery. It shall alter the result of the test or cancel the test and order its repetition if it finds that the test has been conducted in breach of law or that there have been other serious deficiencies which may have affected the proper conduct or result of the test; if it does not detect an error, it shall confirm the result of the test.

The repetition of the examination, with the exception of the examination held in the form of the preparation of the graduation thesis and its defence before the Examination Board, shall take place no later than 15 days from the date of the decision, before the Examination Board appointed by the Regional Authority. The repetition of the examination of the profile part of the graduation examination held in the form of the preparation of the graduation thesis and its defence before the examination committee takes place as soon as possible.

This applies to you if

1. You have taken the final exam or the exam of the profile (school) part of the school-leaving examination in any form.
2. You have doubts about the correctness of the assessment of the examination, you believe that your final or school-leaving examination has been accompanied by serious shortcomings or you do not agree with the exclusion from the examination.

When to use this service

The service can be solved within 20 days from the end of the period set by the implementing legislation for the holding of the relevant examination.

For the final exam in spring, the application can be submitted by 20. 7th relevant school year.

An application for a review of one of the tests of the profile part of the school-leaving examination must be submitted:

• in the spring trial period until 20 days after 10 June, i.e. until 30 June,
• in the autumn trial period until 20 days after 20 September, i.e. until 10 October.

• your name, surname and date of birth,
• your data box ID, if you own it, or your delivery address,
• the name and address of the secondary school at which you took the final exam.

Part of the application should be the justification for the application - why you think there was a mistake in the conduct of the examination or in the evaluation of the examination.

The application for the examination of the profile part of the school-leaving examination shall be submitted on the appropriate form.

Where and how to solve this service

The service is dealt with at the regional authority (in the case of a Prague school at the Prague City Hall) competent according to the seat of the school.

The application may be submitted via:

• a data box or
• an electronic document bearing an advanced electronic signature.

The benefit is a possible change in the result of the exam or the possibility of holding it in a substitute term.

Appeal options

The decision of the Regional Authority or the City of Prague to review the final exam or graduation exam, as well as the decision to review the exclusion from the exam, is final and cannot be appealed against.
