Request of Accreditation extension of higher education study programme

Upon request, the Accreditation Office may extend the validity of the accreditation of a study programme, even repeatedly. 

This applies to you if

You are a higher education institution and you are interested in extension of accreditation of a study programme.

When to use this service

An application for extinsion of accreditation of a study programme can be submitted to the National Accreditation Office anytime before the expiry of the accreditation of the study programme. The National Accreditation Bureau shall decide on the request within 120 days.

What you need if you are using this service

A written request for the extension of the accreditation of a study programme, which includes:

• the name of the higher education institution or its unit that will implement the study programme;
• the name of the study programme, its type, mode and objectives of study, or, where appropriate, the profile of the study programme
• the intention of the study programme development
• a self-assessment report describing and evaluating the fulfilment of the individual requirements resulting from the relevant standards for accreditation 
• in the case of a study programme aimed at the pursuit of a regulated profession after its completion, a statement of approval from the relevant recognition bodyin the case of a study programme aimed at training security professionals, a statement of approval of the Ministry of the Interior or the Ministry of Defence.

• personally in office hours, or
• by mail:

What is the benefit of this service

After the extension of the accreditation of a study programme, the higher education institution is entitled to carry out the study programme in the following period. Accreditation is granted usually for 10 years, in some specific cases for a shorter period.
