If you are an accommodation provider, it is your duty to report the accommodation of a foreigner to the Police of the Czech Republic. You must notify the stay of foreigners within 3 days of their entry into the territory, whether they are third-country nationals or citizens of the European Union or their family members.

An accommodation provider is understood to be anyone who provides accommodation for remuneration or who accommodates more than 5 foreign nationals, except in cases where the foreign national and the provider can be considered as being in a close relationship.
Accommodation is understood to be a relationship based on an accommodation agreement, a rental contract, a subletting contract or an agreement with a similar content.
In all cases, the accommodation building must have a house number or a registration number, if needs be the descriptive number, and it must be intended for habitation or recreation in accordance with the Building Act.

If you provide accommodation for remuneration for more than 5 foreign nationals, except in cases where the foreign national and the provider can be considered as being in a close relationship.

Service settlement
What you need if you are using this service
If you have accommodation as the subject of your business activity, you are obliged to report the accommodation of a foreigner via the Internet application Ubyport, which is available on the website of the Police of the Czech Republic.
If you do not have accommodation as the subject of your business activity, you are obliged to report the accommodation of a foreigner as accommodation providers and you can do so also by means of a paper registration form. However, you can choose to report the accommodation of foreigners yourself by remote access via the Internet through the Ubyport application.

Where and how to solve this service
It is necessary to submit one copy of the paper registration form, which will be signed by the foreigner, to the locally competent department of the Foreign Police of the Regional Directorate of the Police of the Czech Republic (the address of the accommodation facility must be located in the given region), and the second copy of the paper registration form, which will be signed by the foreigner, must be deposited as one of the sheets of the Home Book, which must be kept in the accommodation facility.

What is the benefit of this service
It will be faster if the accommodation provider notifies the stay of any foreigner to the Police of the Czech Republic. This way, the foreigner does not have to report it himself. Also, having the correct data on the number of inhabitants in the municipalities provides the overview necessary to optimize the territorial targeting of services for citizens such as waste collection, etc.
