As a citizen of the European Union, you are required to report your place of residence in the country to the Foreign Police Service within 30 days of your entry into the country, if you presume that you will be staying in the Czech Republic for more than 30 days.

As a third-country national who is a family member of an EU citizen, you are required to report your place of residence in the country to the Foreign Police Service within 30 days of your entry into the country, if you presume that you will be staying in the Czech Republic for more than 30 days.

The obligation to report your place of residence to the Foreign Police Service does not apply to you, if the provider of your accommodation such as a hotel, a hostel or another lodging facility fulfilled this obligation on your behalf. The obligation to report the place of residence also does not apply, for example, to persons younger than 15 years.

This applies to you if

  1. You are an EU citizen or a family member of an EU citizen and 
  2. your expected stay in the Czech Republic will be longer than 30 days.

It is necessary to report your place of residence to the Freoign Police Service within 30 days of your entry into the country, if you plan to stay in the Czech Republic for more than 30 days.

In order to report your place of residence in the country, you must use the official form template, which is available on the website of the Foreign Police Service.

Where and how to solve this service

You will fill out a registration form. You must bring this registration form in person or send it by mail to the office of the Foreign Police Service with territorial jurisdiction over your reported place of residence, if you have not fulfilled the reporting obligation with the provider of your accommodation.

Sanctions

If you fail to fulfil your obligation to report your residence in the country, you will commit a minor offence. A fine of up to CZK 3,000 can be imposed on the spot for this minor offence.
