Application for transfer of a pupil to another primary school

The legal guardian of the pupil (parent) has the possibility to request the transfer of the pupil to a different primary school than the one in which they are still a pupil, e.g. when moving to another municipality or for any other reason. The parent can choose any school registered in the school register. Admission is always decided by the principal of the school to which the pupil transfers.

What you need if you are using this service

Apply to transfer the pupil to another school. The application shall be accompanied by:

  • name and surname of the applicant (child),
  • date of birth:
  • place of permanent residence, or other address for service (pursuant to Section 19(3) of the Administrative Code),
  • name of the administrative authority to which the application is addressed (the specific primary school).
  • address of the school from which the pupil is transferring

With regard to the legal representation of the child by their legal guardian or another person authorised to do so, it is also essential to ascertain:

  • name and surname of that guardian,
  • place of permanent residence of that guardian, or another address for delivery.

If the child is represented by a person other than their legal guardian, it is also essential that the latter documents their authority to represent the child.

It must be clear from the submission who is applying, what matter it relates to and what is proposed. The representative of the party to the proceedings (the legal guardian of the child) is obliged to present their identity card at the request of an authorised official (Section 36(5) of the Administrative Code).

What is the benefit of this service

A pupil is free to change primary schools for any reason during primary education and to fulfil the legal obligation to attend another primary school.
