Proceedings for the overpayment of material hardship benefits

Main information

If you have been paid any of the material hardship benefits (subsistence allowance, housing supplement, emergency immediate assistance) or part thereof wrongly or higher than the amount that was due as a result of the fault of you, as the recipient of the benefit, or of the person with whom you are jointly assessed, you will be obliged to return this overpayment.

This applies to you if

If you have received a material hardship benefit or part thereof, even though you knew that it was paid unlawfully or in a higher amount than was due.

When to use this service

The obligation to repay the material hardship benefit arises from the date of the enforcement of the administrative decision issued by the regional branch of the Labour Office of the Czech Republic.

What is the benefit of this service

The decision on the obligation to return the overpayment and its fulfilment shall correct the situation in the payment of the material hardship benefit.

Appeal options

An appeal against the decision on the obligation to return an overpayment of material hardship benefit may be lodged with the regional branch of the Labour Office of the Czech Republic that issued the decision. The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs will decide on your appeal.
