Notification of Shipments of Hazardous Waste

Main information

A waste producer or licensed person who send waste from their establishment or facility (hereinafter referred to as the “consignor”) are obliged  to notify each shipment of hazardous waste separately to each single unloading site before it is shipped through a notification form which shall include at least information concerning the consignor, the type and quantity of waste, the waste unloading site, the person organising the shipment, the method of transport used and the facility to which the waste is being shipped.

Furthemore, the consignor is obliged to attach to each consignment of hazardous waste a written document containing the information on the notification form, including the number of the notification form assigned by the Integrated system for compliance with environmental (ISPOP) reporting obligations,  to cancel notification of a shipment of hazardous waste within 3 working days of the date the commencement of shipment was notified if they were the notifier of a shipment of hazardous waste and the shipment of hazardous waste did not commence on the date notified, and  to correct information concerning the shipment and the waste shipped at the latest within 3 working days from the end of the shipment of hazardous waste if there is a discrepancy between the actual data and that notified; they may only correct this information if they were the notifier. 

The transport of hazardous waste is notified to the Ministry through the Integrated system for compliance with environmental reporting obligations (ISPOP) respectively throught it´s subsystem Hazardous waste transport registration system (SEPNO).
