Notification of termination of employment by the employer

One of the employer’s basic obligations under health insurance is the reporting obligation.

The employer notifies the locally competent district social security administration of the termination of an employee’s employment using the prescribed Notification of commencement of employment (termination of employment) form.

This applies to you if

You are an employer and the employment of one of your employees has ended.

When to use this service

As an employer, you must notify the locally competent district social security administration of the date on which an employee’s employment ends. You are required to do this within eight calendar days of the termination of employment.

What you need if you are using this service

As an employer, you are required to send the prescribed Notification of commencement of employment form in electronic form only (in XML format complying with the specifications of the locally competent social security administration and relevant XSD schemas).

The form must contain the information required to maintain the register of insured persons.

Where and how to solve this service

• To the electronic address of the public interface for e-Submission (VREP/APAP) with a recognised electronic signature (prior registration of the certificate with the District Social Security Administration is required) issued by a trusted service provider in the Czech Republic.
• To the data box designatedby the locally competent District/Prague/Municipal Social Security Administration, or alternatively to the CSSA e-Submission data box: 5ffu6xk (ELDP forms – Pension Insurance Records – may be sent solely to the CSSA e-Submission data box: 5ffu6xk).
• Via the CSSA ePortal (as a direct channel using the ‘Send via ePortal’ button), which requires access with guaranteed identity, i.e. after logging in to the ePortal:
  • using an identity card with machine-readable data and an electronic contact chip;
  • via NIA ID (previously name/password/SMS);
  • via an I. CA identification certificate;
  • via MojeID;
  • with an eGovernment mobile key;
  • via the International ID Gateway (IIG) using a foreign means of identification recognised under EU law;
  • with the login details for your data box.

What is the benefit of this service

The insured person is no longer listed as one of your employees, and you are therefore no longer required to pay insurance contributions for them.

Appeal options

There is no appeal procedure.

Sanctions

As an employer, if you fail to notify the district social security administration of the date of termination of your employee’s employment, this constitutes an offence for which a fine of up to CZK 20 000 may be imposed.
