To drive a motor vehicle, you must hold a driving licence, which you obtain by passing a test for a specific group of vehicles. Once you have passed your test and fulfilled the conditions listed below, you can apply for a licence or an extension of your licence.
As an individual, the following conditions must be met in order to obtain a driving licence:
Habitual residence in the territory of the Czech Republic means the place of permanent residence of the natural person, if the natural person does not have a permanent residence, then it is the place where the natural person stays for at least 185 days per calendar year due to personal and professional ties.

You will pay CZK 160 for submitting an application for processing within the standard time limit (20 days).
You will pay CZK 560 for submitting an application for processing within a shortened time limit (5 working days). You can only request issuance within a shortened time limit when extending your driving license.
If you request delivery of your license to a distribution point, you will pay CZK 100.
When you visit the local authority in person, you tell the counter what you want to do and the clerk prepares your application.
You will check your personal details and a photograph, which the office will obtain from the Ministry of the Interior's systems. If a photograph is not available, you will be photographed at the office.
You must provide the following documents with your application:

You can apply at your local municipality. If the annexes are not complete, the authority will ask you to complete or correct the documents.
If your application is successful, you will then collect your licence in person or by proxy with a certified power of attorney from the office where you submitted your application.
For a driving licence issued within the normal time limit (20 days) you will pay CZK 200.
For the issuance of a driving licence within a shortened period (5 days) you will pay CZK 700.
You will obtain a driver's license and will be able to drive motor vehicles. In connection with the license obtained, you will receive a driver's license.
You can appeal under the Administrative Code.
If you drive a motor vehicle without a licence, you are committing an offence against road safety and traffic flow - driving without a licence.
This offence is punishable by an administrative penalty of a driving ban of 1 to 2 years and a fine of CZK 25,000 to 50,000.
