Issuance of an informative personal pension insurance sheet – the request is handled by the Czech Social Security Administration

Main information

Each person is entitled, upon individual request, to be issued with an informative personal pension insurance sheet once per calendar year. In the case of a person who is not a member of the armed forces, the informative personal pension insurance sheet for that person shall be drawn up by the Czech Social Security Administration.

The informative personal pension insurance sheet prepared by the Czech Social Security Administration contains an overview of pension insurance periods and, where applicable, substitute insurance periods, and, for the period from 1986 onwards, an overview of assessment bases and excluded periods in its records. At the same time, it also contains an overview and the total number of unrecorded periods that are missing between the first and the last entitlement document registered with the Czech Social Security Administration.
  • The Czech Social Security Administration does not record insurance periods acquired abroad. The Czech Social Security Administration will require data on periods of pension insurance in EU countries or countries with which Czechia has concluded a social security agreement from the relevant foreign insurance carriers only in the context of pension proceedings.
  • Periods of insurance for self-employed persons are recorded by the relevant district social security administration and data on such insurance are sent to the central register of the Czech Social Security Administration in the calendar year following the year in which the insurance premium was paid for these periods. The period of insurance of self-employed persons not included in the informative personal pension insurance sheet is documented by the competent district social security administration when applying for a pension.

You must always make a request to the Czech Social Security Administration to send you an informative pension insurance sheet in writing. The Czech Social Security Administration may grant such a request no more than once per calendar year.

When to use this service

You have the right to be sent an informative personal pension insurance sheet once a calendar year, so it is entirely at your discretion at which moment you make a written request during the year.

What is the benefit of this service

The Informative Personal Pension Insurance Statement will provide you several years in advance of your decision to retire, with information about whether the records of the the Czech Social Security Administration contain all the documents relating to your work history.

Appeal options

The Act on the Organisation and Implementation of Social Security, as amended, does not allow for an appeal against an Informative Personal Pension Insurance Statement. The non-assessment of the period of insurance can only be challenged in the context of the decision on the entitlement to and amount of the pension.

However, the Czech Social Security Administration will draw up a new Informative Personal Pension Insurance Statement within 90 days of receipt of the request if the citizen subsequently proves the insurance periods, with the exception of periods spent serving in the armed forces, periods spent caring for a child up to four years of age, periods spent caring for a person dependent on the care of another person and periods during which a third degree disability pension was claimed. This obligation does not apply if the insured person submits documents relating to a period falling within the calendar year in which the Informative Personal Pension Insurance Statement was issued, or within the preceding calendar year.

If the additionally submitted documents are not sufficiently conclusive, a new Informative Personal Pension Insurance Statement will not be issued. The submitted documents will be returned to the applicant together with an explanatory note, delivered in person; the 90-day time limit also applies in this case.

The statutory time limit is 30 days from the date of submission. The maximum processing period and the usual time required to provide the service is 90 days from the date the Application for an Informative Personal Pension Certificate is received.
