Main information
The school principal may interrupt a student's education for a maximum period of 2 years by submitting a request for interruption to the school principal.
The school principal is obliged to interrupt the education of a student on the grounds of pregnancy and maternity if the practical training of students takes place in workplaces or in the form of work prohibited to pregnant women and mothers until the end of the ninth month after childbirth, or if the schooling, according to a medical opinion, endangers the student's pregnancy.
During the period of interruption of education, the student is not a student of the post-secondary vocational school.
At the end of the period of interruption, the student continues their studies in the year in which they interrupted their education. With the approval of the school principal, the student may continue in a higher year, provided that they demonstrate adequate knowledge and practical skills, including how they were acquired. The school principal may also terminate the interruption of education before the end of the interruption period at the request of the student, unless compelling reasons prevent this.
