Granting Institucional Accreditation

Main information

If you as a higher education institution would like to be authorized to create and provide study programs, you must apply to the National Accreditation Office for accreditation, in this case institutional accreditation. The institutional accreditation will be granted if you comply with the standards for accreditation according to §78a (2) of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education, for a specified field of study in a given type of study programme and have a functional system of quality assurance and evaluation of educational, creative and related activities.

You are a higher education institution and you are interested in providing study programmes. 

When to use this service

Before you start providing study programmes. The Accreditation Office will decide on your application within 120 days.

What you need if you are using this service

A written application for institutional accreditation that includes:

1) the name of the higher education institution

2) specification of the field or fields of education, type or types of study programmes

3) a report on the internal evaluation of the quality of educational, creative and related activities

4) a self-evaluation report describing and evaluating the fulfilment of the individual requirements arising from the relevant standards for accreditation, including requirements relating to financial, material and other security of activities and development.

Where and how to solve this service

Applications should be submitted to the National Accreditation Office for Higher Education.

The application should be submitted at National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education, Karmelitská 5, 118 12 Prague 1.

If you submit a paper application, you must also submit an identical version on a hard electronic medium.

What is the benefit of this service

Once you have been granted institutional accreditation for a field or fields of education, you will be authorized to create and implement relevent type or types of study programmes in the relevent field or fields of education.
