This is a notification about the fulfilment of compulsory schooling abroad by a pupil without a primary school in the Czech Republic.
The legal representative of the child (citizen of the Czech Republic) is obliged to notify the fulfilment of the compulsory school attendance of the pupil abroad.
If the pupil is not enrolled in a primary school (catchment or other school in the Czech Republic), he/she shall notify and document the fulfilment of compulsory school attendance to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (hereinafter referred to as ‘MEYS’).
This applies to you if
Are you the legal representative of a child who:
- has Czech citizenship;
- Comply with compulsory education abroad;
- does not have a tribal school in the Czech Republic.
When to use this service
Notification to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is submitted no later than the end of September of the school year in which the child would start compulsory schooling according to the rules in force in the Czech Republic.
In the event that the child has been kept in the tribal school so far and the registration is terminated on the basis of the will of the legal representative, the legal representative shall send a notification as soon as possible after the completion of the registration in the tribal school.

Sanctions
If, as a legal representative, you neglect the fulfilment of your child’s compulsory schooling (this obligation also applies to Czech citizens abroad), this may be an offence with a fine of up to CZK 5000.
