Complaining to the regional authority about organisational or technical aspects of elections to the European Parliament

Main information

If you are dissatisfied with the election process in your district or the conduct of the municipal authority or members of the district electoral commission when exercising your right to vote, and you have already been unsuccessful in seeking protection from the municipal authority, you have the right to file a complaint against the municipal authority with the relevant regional authority

The regional authority cannot objectively assess the complaint if you have not first sought protection from the municipal authority.

This applies to you if

You are dissatisfied with the election process in your district or municipality, you have complained to your municipal authority, and that authority did not uphold your complaint.

When to use this service

You may file a complaint at any time; however, you are advised to file it as possible so that, where appropriate, it can be redressed in a timely manner.

Example: The municipal authority refuses to issue you with a voter ID card. The complaint should be filed immediately so that, as part of the remedy, your voter ID card can be duly delivered on time so that you can vote in the elections.
