Application for the provision of full direct support to an adult dependent

Main information

The provision of full direct care to an adult dependent is intended for an adult (by reaching the age of 18) dependent upon completion of institutional or protective care preparing for a future occupation, but not beyond the age of 26 on the basis of a contract of extended residence.

This is a voluntary residency.

As a rule, the client asks for an extension of the stay in the establishment where he previously resided (on the basis of court-ordered institutional or protective upbringing).

On the basis of the concluded contract between the facility director and the client, the client is provided with full direct support in preparation for the future profession. This concerns the provision of:

  • catering, accommodation and clothing,
  • teaching supplies and aids,
  • Reimbursement of strictly necessary training costs;
  • reimbursement of the costs of health services, pharmaceuticals and medical devices covered by health insurance,
  • pocket money, personal gifts,
  • reimbursement of transport costs to the seat of the school.

In addition, leisure and recreation facilities, cultural, artistic, sporting and leisure activities, and competitive events may be covered.

This applies to you if

  • You have ordered institutional or protective education in a school facility for institutional or protective education (children’s home, children’s home with school, educational institution, diagnostic institution), which ends for you and you continue to prepare for your future profession (education).
  • You are between 18 and 26 years old.
  • You have been given institutional or protective education in a school institution for institutional or protective education (children’s home, children’s home with school, educational institution, diagnostic institution), which has been completed no more than a year ago and you are preparing for a future occupation (education).
  • You will submit an application for an extension of your stay to the Director of the establishment concerned and your application may be granted .
