Temporarily moving a firearm subject to registration, a PO category firearm, or an NO category firearm and ammunition for such firearms in quantities appropriate for the purpose of temporary use into the territory of the Czech Republic and using them for the specified purpose, unless they are military equipment under the Act on Foreign Trade in Military Equipment, is only possible on the basis of the Firearms transit waybill. This does not apply if the purpose of the cross-border movement is a business transfer in the field of arms and ammunition.
The Firearms transit waybill will be issued to the applicant by the representative office of the Czech Republic (in particular the embassy), the Police Presidium or a unit of the Police of the Czech Republic at a border crossing point (this applies only to border crossing points at the external border of the Schengen area, i.e. at international airports), if the applicant proves the purpose for which the temporary cross-border movement of the firearms or ammunition is to be carried out. The Firearms transit waybill is issued for a period corresponding to the period of temporary transfer and use of the firearms and ammunition, but for a maximum of one year.
The holder of the Firearms transit waybill is authorized to handle the firearms and ammunition specified in the Firearms transit waybill only to the extent and for the purposes specified in the Firearms transit waybill and is also obliged to comply with the other conditions specified in the Firearms transit waybill.
