Admission to a Tertiary Vocational School

Main information

The admission procedure for the first year of a tertiary vocational school begins when you submit an application to the director of the tertiary vocational school.

The deadline for the first round of the admission procedure is 31 May; further rounds are at the discretion of the school's director.

Before submitting your application, check whether the director has announced an entrance examination as a condition of admission, and what its content and form will be.

You may submit applications to several tertiary vocational schools; the number of applications is not limited.

The director also determines the maximum number of admitted students. If the expected number of students is not reached in the first round, you may submit an application in subsequent rounds at the same or a different tertiary vocational school.

Entrance examinations may take place no earlier than 14 June.

The invitation to the entrance examination for the first round will be sent to you by the school director no later than 14 days before the examination date; for subsequent rounds the invitation must be sent no later than 5 days before the examination date. The invitation includes information on the entrance examination requirements.

During the admission procedure, the school director will assess you on the basis of:

  • the knowledge acquired during your secondary education, as reflected in your secondary-school report,
  • the results of the entrance examination, if required, and
  • other circumstances demonstrating your relevant abilities, knowledge and interest in the field of study.
All rounds of the admission procedure must be completed by 30 October.

This applies to you if

  1. You have completed secondary education with a school-leaving examination (maturita).
  2. You wish to continue your studies at a tertiary vocational school.
