Accreditation of the educational program in the system of further education of pedagogical staff

Main information

If you are interested in carrying out training programmes to qualify as a teaching staff member, e.g. teacher, educator, teaching assistant, leisure teacher, you need to have such a programme accredited in the continuing education system of teaching staff.

The same obligation of accreditation also applies to selected programmes that ensure the further professional development of already qualified teachers, e.g. qualifying studies for directors, specialisation studies for prevention methodology, environmental education coordinator, ICT coordinator or school education programme or educational advisor or accompanying teacher.

In order for the educational program to meet the condition of accreditation in the system of continuing education of pedagogical staff, it is necessary to submit an application for accreditation.

After your submission, we will check the application and, if the application is in order, which means that it contains all the required documents, we will forward the programme for consideration to the Accreditation Commission.

The Accreditation Commission is our advisory body and will issue an opinion on your programme. On the basis of this opinion, we will decide whether or not to grant accreditation, or we will invite you to modify the programme or supplement it.

The accreditation of the training programme shall be granted for 6 years. This period can be extended if you submit an application for an extension within the period of validity of the accreditation according to the information provided on the website of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. In case of extension, the accreditation is granted for 3 years.

The deadline for processing your request is 120 days from the date of delivery.

This applies to you if

You are a legal or natural person who organises training courses leading to the qualification or specialisation of teaching staff.

Certain types of programmes, in particular qualifying programmes (for teachers, educators, teaching assistants, etc.), require the implementer to be either a university or a facility for the further training of teaching staff, a type of educational establishment included in the register of schools and educational establishments, and thus to have this activity of a facility for the further training of teaching staff entered in that register.
Before preparing your application and submitting it, please check whether the programme also requires a specific type of provider (university/education for further education of teaching staff) for implementation and whether you meet this condition.

When to use this service

An application for accreditation of a programme may be submitted at any time during the year, but within the deadlines published on the website of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

Deadlines for receiving applications are published once a year (usually in September) for the following calendar year. Applications are received 5 times a year, 2 months apart.
