The State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic (SEF CR) , founded in 1992, is a major state institution of the environmental sector which has substantively contributing to investments aimed at protecting and improving of the environment in the Czech Republic.
The mission of the SEF CR is to protect the health, property and natural resources of the Czech Republic through investments in the environment, and to contribute to its sustainable development and preservation for future generations.
Through grants, loans and financial instruments, it co-finances projects that contribute to improving water and air quality, waste management and nature and landscape protection. It also supports environmental education, the use and development of renewable energy sources and energy saving.
Thanks to the financial support of the SEF CR, new water pipes, sewerage systems, wastewater treatment plants, collection yards, energy-efficient and modern schools and kindergartens and other public buildings are being built. The fund helps to build flood protection measures, revitalize waterways and retain water in the landscape. With its support, households can insulate their homes, purchase renewable energy sources or use rainwater effectively. It is also an important partner in the modernization of heating plants, the construction of large photovoltaic power plants, the development of community energy, as well as a number of other projects.
WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES OF THE SEF CR
- Cooperation in the creation of grant programs and calls announced in them
- Receiving and evaluation of aid applications, financing and control of project implementation, evaluation of their effects
- Providing consulting and advisory services
- Administration and collection of statutory fees, e.g. for groundwater abstraction, discharge of wastewater into surface waters, landfill disposal of waste, etc.

HOW TO APPLY FOR SUPPORT
Support can be requested within the framework of announced calls for applications. Individual calls define the area of supported measures, the group of applicants, the schedule for accepting applications, and other specific conditions. Information on announced calls can be found on the website of the relevant grant program (see above). Here you will also find information on how to apply for support under the program.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FILL OUT THE APPLICATION FORM?
It depends on the subsidy title and, above all, on the requirements that must be documented in the application. For example, filling out an application for the New Green Savings program takes about 30 minutes (if the applicant has all the necessary documents ready).
How long does it usually take for the office to process my application, and what is the legal deadline for processing it?
The SEF CR tries to check applications as quickly as possible, but the length of the process can be affected by a number of circumstances. There is no statutory deadline, as the provision of support is not conditional.
For example, in the New Green Savings program, an application can be accepted within 3 weeks of submission (if the application is in order).
