Awarding of a social bursary for university's students.

University students, if their income does not exceed the family subsistence level multiplied by a factor of 1.5are entitled to a social bursary in the monthly amount of one fourth of the basic rate of the minimum wage.

Entitlement to a social bursary is regulated by Section 91, Paragraphs 2 and 3 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., pursuant to Section 17 of Act No. 117/1995 Coll. A student public or private university that meets the conditions stipulated by law (students who qualify for increased child support according to a special regulation provided that the relevant family income ascertained for the purpose of child support does not exceed the family subsistence level multiplied by a factor of 1.5.), is entitled to a bursary which is provided for ten months of each academic year for the standard length of studies.

Social bursaries are not included in the family's income for the calculation of social benefits and are exempt from income taxes.
