SERVICE DESCRIPTION
An identity number will be provided to you by the Department for Asylum and Migration Policy of the MOI CR.
You do not apply for an identity number, it will be assigned to you.
THIS APPLIES TO YOU, IF any of your following applications has been granted:
- an application for a certificate of temporary residence of an EU citizen;
- an application for a temporary residence permit for a family member of an EU citizen; or
- an application for a permanent residence permit.
By virtue of office, the MOI CR will assign an identity number to you, unless it has already been assigned to you.
Do not apply for assignment of your identity number separately.

WHEN TO USE THE SERVICE
By virtue of office, the MOI CR will assign an official identity number to you, unless it has already been assigned to you.
You will receive an identity number, if any of your following applications has been granted:
- an application for a certificate of temporary residence of an EU citizen;
- an application for a temporary residence permit for a family member of an EU citizen; or
- an application for a permanent residence permit.

An identity number is assigned by virtue of office.

A foreign national does not apply for an identity number but it is assigned to him/her.

An identity number is issued free of charge.
